Food export labeling requirements for the USA

To sell packaged food in the United States, the label needs an FDA Nutrition Facts panel, an ingredient list, allergen declarations, net quantity and the responsible business — in the FDA's format.

The Nutrition Facts panel

The panel uses the FDA format and a serving size derived from the reference amount for your product category. Nutrients are rounded the FDA way.

Ingredients and allergens

Ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, and the major food allergens must be declared in the wording US law expects.

Net quantity and responsible party

The net quantity and the name and address of the manufacturer, packer or distributor appear on the pack.
