Safety and efficacy of a feed additive consisting of phenylcapsaicin (aXiphen) for chickens for fattening (aXichem AB)
Following a request from the European Commission, EFSA was asked to deliver a scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of phenylcapsaicin (aXiphen) as zootechnical feed additive (other zootechnical) for chickens for fattening. The additive is already authorised as a novel food. The use of phenylcapsaicin in animal nutrition is considered safe for chickens for fattening and the consumers. The use of phenylcapsaicin as a feed additive was considered safe for the environment.
