Safety of roasted seeds from Plukenetia volubilis L. as a traditional food from a third country pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 2015/2283

Following a request from the European Commission, the EFSA Panel on Nutrition, Novel Foods and Food Allergens (NDA) was asked to deliver an opinion on roasted seeds from Plukenetia volubilis L. as a Traditional Food from a third country (TF) pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2015/2283. Roasted seeds from Plukenetia volubilis L. (commonly known as sacha inchi) have been consumed in Peru for more than 25 years. The applicant intends to place on the European Union (EU) market roasted sacha inchi seeds to be consumed as a whole food.
