Safety of Anaerobutyricum soehngenii CH106 as a novel food pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2015/2283

Following a request from the European Commission, the EFSA Panel on Nutrition, Novel Foods and Food Allergens (NDA) was asked to deliver an opinion on the safety of freeze‐dried viable Anaerobutyricum (A.) soehngenii CH106 as a novel food (NF) pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2015/2283. The applicant intends to market the NF in food supplements for adults at a maximum dose of 2.0 × 10 9 active fluorescent units (AFU)/day, corresponding to 2.9 × 10 7 AFU/kg body weight per day.
