Practical implementation of NAMs into the risk assessment of pesticide residues - Bacterial Gene Mutation
Regulation No 283/2013 requires the toxicological assessment of pesticide residues i.e., the active substance and its metabolites. The toxicological assessment of these metabolites has increasingly relied on predictive in silico tools such as Quantitative Structure‐Activity Relationships (QSARs), grouping and read‐across approaches, as recommended by the European Food Safety Authority and the forthcoming update of the OECD (Organization for Economic Co‐operation and Development) Guidance on the Definition of Residue.
